Easy Cube Steak with caramelized onions and peppers

January 23, 2012

As promised another cube steak recipe. This I made with the remaining cube steak I had left. I really enjoyed the veggies with this version.

Easy Cube Steak with caramelized onions and peppers

  • 2 beef cube steaks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 large sliced onions
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

–    Season cube steaks generously with salt and pepper.
–    Melt butter in a large skillet and add sliced onions and peppers. Sauté for @ 10 minutes or until onions have caramelized
–    Push the onions and peppers to one side and add the cube steaks (in batches, if necessary) and add more butter, if necessary.
–    Fry the steaks quickly — about 2-3 minutes per side — or until done.
–    Serve with any accumulated juices and veggies. Good with bread or potatoes.
–    You can also add mushrooms while cooking the onions if you would like.

This was really simple to make and the veggies were a really great addition.
