Spicy Garlic Shrimp

This is a recipe I have made a few times and it is so extremely simple and delicious! It was a crowd favorite at Christmas Eve dinner this year.

Spicy Garlic Shrimp

  • 2 lb bag raw shrimp (I used large, but any size will work)
  • 2-3 good size garlic cloves – chopped
  • ½ – 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (depending on how hot you want it)
  • Salt and pepper ( to taste)
  • 2 tbsp oil (I used olive)


– Set oven to broil
– In small bowl or container, combine garlic, red pepper, salt, pepper and oil
– Peel shrimp – tail and all
– Place shrimp on baking tray or large oven safe container. Dry with paper towel so there is little excess water.
– Pour oil mixture over shrimp and mix.
– Try to arrange shrimp in a single layer or just as even as possible.
– Place under broiler – 5 minutes and stir, keep stirring until all shrimp is cooked (opaque and pink).
– Serve plain or over some pasta.
