Crockpot BBQ Chicken

July 14, 2011

This is so simple I almost feel silly posting it, but it came out super delicious. I have made chicken breasts like this for pulled chicken but the drumsticks came out more moist and flavorful.

Crockpot BBQ Chicken

  • 3-4 lbs of Chicken drumsticks
  • 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce

 1. Skin the drumsticks.  I hold the meaty end and cut  around  the skin on the bony end so that it forms a circle all around. Then stick your fingers under the skin from the meaty end and work on detaching it from the meat. Once you get to the opening  you made you can stretch it over the bone and take it completely off.

2.Place in crock and add the BBQ sauce. After the bottle of sauce was almost empty, I added a little ( @ 1/4 cup) of water and shook to get remaining sauce out.

3. Cook on HIGH for 3-3.5 hours.

It came out very tender and delicious. I used it to make toasted chicken burritos ( recipe coming soon).
