I was looking at the vital wheat gluten package that I use for my bread making and saw this recipe. It is a vegetarian meat alternative with very high protein content. The recipe made 12 servings so I scaled it down to 2-3 servings. It is simple to make and can be used instead of meat.

Makes 2-3 servings

1/2 cup Vital Wheat Gluten

Dash of garlic powder and onion powder and any other spices you like.

1/2 cup water

For broth:

2+ quarts water boiling in large pot

1 cube of bullion

Mix all broth items together and heat to boiling.

Mix dry items together.

Add water and mix well. Knead for a minute until becomes tough and firm.

Cut into 2 in x 2 in pieces and drop into boiling broth.

They will sink, but float up in a couple of minutes. Simmer for about 1 hour.

Drain and use in stir fry or meal.

This was ok but I will try a different herb and broth variation. It is chewy and very high in protein.
